Children’s books for Raksha Nepal kids

print
Great happiness at Shree Janabikas Secondary School. Until autumn 2017, this school will be equipped with age-appropriate children’s books as part of the My Book Buddy project from Soroptimist International. Having more fun when reading the children can thus improve their literacy skills. Roots for Life intermediate Carola Gosch had stepped in to equip this school because it is visited by the children who live at the Rakshha Nepal Care Center Kathmandu. Roots for Life has been supporting Raksha Nepal since 2012.

In order to implement My Book Buddy at the Shree Janabikas Secondary School, Carola Gosch met representatives of Soroptimist Austria and Soroptimist Nepal on her Nepal project tour in April 2017. Among them were Tanja Riegler from club SI Vienna Vivata, Elke Harg from club SI Graz Rubin, Uma Badal Acharya and Bhawana Rijal from club SI Kathmandu. Together, they will introduce the My Book Buddy Project into 5 classes of the school.
Many thanks go to Soroptimist International representatives Sabine Mach and Marlène van Benthem for their support.
