Nepal-diary part 8 – Visiting the women and their chicken

The second group of women, thanks to the commitment of the women’s community in Chyangsar, was able to acquire a flock of chickens. We visited them at home and loved the Nepalese hospitality! The project is extremely successful, the sale of eggs and chicks raises the well-being of the whole family.

In addition, eggs can be very useful: It is Hindu tradition that an egg is brought to a priest when somebody is sick. He then transmits the suffering spiritually into the interior of the egg, throws it to the ground and the patient gets well! Buddhists do it differently, they rather eat the egg as an omelette.
